The Rite of Christian Initiation – “R.C.I.A.” is the way in which the Catholic Church guides those wishing to become Catholic, as well as those wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith. At St. Joseph Old Cathedral, the RCIA group meets once per week, with the exception of holidays, in the education building to the west of the Church. The climax of the process comes when those who choose to do so are confirmed and baptized (if necessary) into the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil.
This year our Thursday (2010-2011) evening sessions begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and close promptly at 8:00 p.m. Speakers may include our pastor, one of the facility members or a carefully selected guest speaker. Each week brings a new topic concerning facets of conversion, the Catholic faith and the journey of our inquirers as they grow closer to God.
This weeks topic will be
"Is God Calling Me to be Catholic?"
August 19th at 6:30pm
Upcoming topics –
August 26th --- "How Catholics Hear the Voice of God"
Any person who is considering the possibility of becoming a Catholic, or who simply wishes to learn more about the Catholic Church, will find no better way to do this than to become a part of St. Joseph Old Cathedral's RCIA.
