Classes of instruction are held periodically. For more information, contact servers@stjosepholdcathedral.org.

» Sacristans
Sacristans make sure everything is in place for the celebration of Mass. They also clean vessels and put away books after each Mass. Training is provided. Volunteers are needed for each of the weekend Masses and holy days of obligations. For more information, contact sacristans@stjosepholdcathedral.org.

» Greeters and ushers
Greeters and ushers support our celebration of Mass by greeting people as they arrive and assisting them to find seating or other church facilities as needed. Ushers collect the offering during Mass and distribute bulletins to departing churchgoers afterward. Men and women of the parish are always welcome to volunteer to be greeters.

» RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation is the way in which the Catholic Church guides those wishing to become Catholic, as well as those wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith. At St. Joseph Old Cathedral, the RCIA group meets once per week, with the exception of holidays, in the education building to the west of the Church. The climax of the process comes when those who choose to do so are confirmed and baptized (if necessary) into the Catholic Church at Easter Vigil.

This year our Sunday evening sessions begin promptly at 5:15 p.m. and close promptly at 7 p.m. Speakers may include our pastor, one of the facility members or a carefully selected guest speaker. Each week brings a new topic concerning facets of conversion, the Catholic faith and the journey of our inquirers as they grow closer to God.

A person who is considering the possibility of becoming a Catholic, or who simply wishes to learn more about the Catholic Church, will find no better way to do this than to become a part of St. Joseph Old Cathedral's RCIA.

For more information, please contact Deacon Ed Duclos, RCIA director.

The music ministry offers hymns and sacred music during Mass. Our organist and cantors lead the congregation during Mass in the antiphonal responses and in song. Our choir is unauditioned and always welcomes new voices. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to praise God through their song.
